 Every session starts with the learning and revision of key alphabet sounds. In Unit 1 this will be the letters of the alphabet. In later units long vowel sounds are introduced, for example 'oo' or 'magic e'.

These sounds are taught gradually over the weeks to allow your child to practise and consolidate their knowledge. The aim is for your child to have rapid recall of all the sounds introduced in each unit by the end of the last week.

They can practise their Speed Sounds daily using the fun animations or if you prefer you can download and cut up the Speed Sound flashcards on the Printable Resources page of each unit.

Spend about 2 minutes per day practising
